Have a relax in a nice homestay in Pac Ngoi Village in Vietnam

Pac Ngoi Village belongs to Tay ethnic minorities on the side of Leng River, in Nam Mau Commune, Ba Be District, Bac Kan Vietnam. It is next to Ba Be Lake and five kilometers far from the center of Ba Be National Park Vietnam in the area. 

There are 70 stilt houses in the village staying close next to each other, which all keep the original architecture with simple appearance but own specific charm. From the far distance, the village is like a dreamy picture of simple houses hidden among thin layers of dews in the morning sunlight with the green mountain behind, bringing about a sense of peace and harmony.


The architecture is designed to protect the locals from mountainous animals. From two to four wooden columns make the house two separated grades. The higher one includes the guest room, a kitchen also the sleeping space for the family. The ground space is the tool storage and also the home of cattle and poultry. From the origin, the rooftop is made of two or four layers of leaves to suffer from sunlight and rains. However, nowadays, red bricks are chosen to replace to be safer but still keep the cool atmosphere in the house.

Recently, many of the houses have been known as beautiful Pac Ngoi Village homestay. During your experience, you can see simple tools used in agriculture such as casting and other fishing-nets. Most of them are the result of the creation of the residents to earn their living in such a mountainous area. Only when seeing in person their process to create a basketwork with bamboo can tourists learn how clever and thorough they are.

Especially, having a meal with the locals is one of the most attractive things to do in Bac Kan in general and Pac Ngoi Village in particular. They are glad to prepare local specialties such as grilled goat meat, five-color sticky rice, roasted fish, sour and sweet shrimp...  Especially, local wine which is fermented with mountainous leaves always gives tourists a nice impression that it is hard to see anywhere else.
