Away from Samui’s beaches lies Wat Khunaram temple, known from its mummified monk. His remarkably well preserved body is kept in a glass casket on display in the temple. One of Koh Samui’s most attractive and colorful temples, the Wat Plai Laem contains two enormous statues in Chinese Thai style, namely one of the Chinese Goddess of Mercy with 18 arms and one of a smiling fat Buddha. There is a lake full of large hungry fish waiting to be fed by the temple’s visitors.
Laem Sor Pagoda
This pagoda is located in a very attractive and much quieter area of Koh Samui’s South West corner. The golden colored pagoda guarded by large and colorful giants sits at the end of Bang Kao beach.
Kiteboarding
Enjoy the excitement of kiteboarding on one of Koh Samui’s many tropical beaches. For those wanting to learn the sport, the island houses an IKO certified kiteboarding school.
